INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF PEMBA
The International School of Pemba (ISP) was founded in 2007 to build a space for students to learn, create and grow (Early Years, Primary, Middle and High School). We offer a stimulating learning environment that is child-centred, culturally diverse and relaxed; where young children are nurtured and encouraged to be environmentally conscious, independent thinkers. Our teachers support and encourage a Project Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) approach. PBL involves a dynamic classroom study in which students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. IBL is active learning that starts from a place of questioning and problem solving which encourages a 'Growth Mindset'
OUR MISSION, VISION & VALUES
To create a school that supports and encourages a Project Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry Based Learning approach (IBL). We strive to develop inquisitive, sustainably minded, environmentally and socially conscious students. This starts in the classroom, expands within our school and eventually fosters positive change in our community at large, actively engaging the next generations.
To build a space for students to learn, create and grow; to offer a stimulating learning environment that is child-centered, culturally diverse and relaxed; where children are nurtured and encouraged to become independent thinkers..
At ISP, we work with honesty & integrity; passion; sustainability; accountability; quality; and pride.
"TO LEARN WITH PRIDE and
PROGRESS WITH CONFIDENCE"
-International School of Pemba
At ISP we believe that an effective education doesn’t just come from memorizing or lecturing.
As a community we are dedicated towards giving the best opportunity for our students to prepare themselves for the future. We highly believe in allowing students to take ownership of their learning. The ISP student is about active participation throughout the learning process. This entails; analyzing, discussing and collaboration. Enhancing comprehension and retention. All of our courses are designed to encourage depth of perception with the class material whereby we also find the connections between all of our learning. Teachers are professionals dedicated towards allowing students to have the space to make mistakes and to grow throughout the process.
